We all have times when the struggles of life get us down and as a result of that we often make our significant other worry that its about them and so this song is about reassuring them that things will be okay.

I posted this song on Frettie over a year ago. After receiving feedback from Brent Baxter I thought about his comments for a full year before sitting down to do a rewrite. This is the resulting new demo. Thanks Brent! Frettie is a great tool for us songwriters to use as long as we don't allow our egos to get in the way.

The singer is just a working man who knows who he is and what's important to get the job done and live a good life.

The singer wants another chance with his girl and uses the dog as an excuse to get her back. This is a humorous take on using guilt to get another chance.

In 1979 I was given a poem from a customer at a place I was playing at asking if I could put their words to music, they didn't want a writing credit and at 15 years old I wasn't fully aware of the whole song writing credits thing...

Suffice to say that years later when looking up the song title I found a poem that was uncredited with very similar lyrics...so likely the person that gave it to me did not write it.

I added a second verse and this recording is from 1991, when I was a "little" younger and I consider this the first song I ever wrote.

This is a song about the power of words. I was wrestling with how easy it is to say words with no conviction behind them, empty words. This song is a declaration that my words will not be empty anymore. What I will say is what I mean to say.
