Once a month, an older man goes to his usual bar or club, has his usual drinks, and listens to his favorite music, i.e., country music. He thinks back to times in his past that, though not necessarily all good, were better than other times.

This is a first time co-write between myself and co-writer, Betty Miller. Betty had a cut by Charlie Pride a while back, and she's also one of the founding members of our local songwriter's association. It was a real honor when she came to me, handed me a lyric sheet and said, "I think you can help me with this song." She already wrote the lyrics, but needed someone to put music and melody to it. I went into my home studio and what you hear are my thoughts on the music and melody. I am also the vocalist on this one.

I wrote this song in the hopes of someday pitching it to Tim McGraw, unfortunately that has not happened yet. However I also wrote this song for every man who is fortunate enough to go home every night to his reason for breathing.

This is just a general observation of a woman who has done well in her life and wants the fairy tail kind of life but is attracted to the bad boy who is really worlds away from her life and lifestyle.
This is an acoustic work tape.
I am singing and playing guitars.

The life of a song can be fascinating! First we put in the work of writing, rewriting, rewriting a second time, and sometimes rewriting a third time before producing the all important demo. Then once the demo is complete we send it out into the world and we wait, and we wait, and we wait!
This is the demo of such a song. I wrote this song and demoed it in 2014, but it has been cut twice this year. The first cut being in January by new country artist Matt Westin, and the most recent cut by christian country artist Bryan Carroll with Daywind Music Group of Nashville. Songwriting has taught me both diligence and patience. I love being a songwriter!
