While at work in January of 2013, a political figure came on my TV and it sparked this song - living in the state of NY propelled it even further when gun laws, etc were imposed on us...This song took about 10 minutes to write...

Six A.M
I punch that clock
Been saving up for months and I ain't gonna stop
For a little house
A two bedroom
Up on hilltop road with a hell of a view
It's harder and harder these days
But I get by somehow, someway
I bust my ass for minimum wage
like granddad in the old days
Cause that's how, I was raised
They ship our jobs overseas
But they won't take my guns from me
Oh man, I hope they understand
Cause I'm an American
There's a war going on
In my back yard
From those guys in the suits and ties and the ones pulling graveyard
They said something had to "change"
But one thing that'll stay the same
I bust my ass for minimum wage
like granddad in the old days
Cause that's how, I was raised
They ship our jobs overseas
But they won't take my guns from me
Oh man, I hope they understand
Cause I'm an American
Land of the free
Home of the brave
Oh and until my dying day
I bust my ass for minimum wage
like granddad in the old days
Cause that's how, I was raised
They ship our jobs overseas
But they won't take my guns from me
Oh man, I hope they understand
Cause I'm an American
yeah we're all American
Key Change - (choir fade out)
