Great musical production. A couple of things I noticed… first, in the chorus, I’m not a big fan of ending two lines with “on”. Secondly, I think you might be limiting the song by “begging on the street” in V2. If you’re performing the song yourself, go for it, but it would be hard for an established artist to sing that line.
My thoughts,
Phillip

So grateful for your feedback, Barry and Phillip. It’s so refreshing to get a different perspective to better the artistic endeavour.

I know they mean well but it’s easier said than it’s done
They say things that go all wrong, supposed to make you strong
But I turned off all the phones and I holed myself up in my home
I lost my faith in love, no sign of God above
I heard life would take you through the straight and narrow gate
But I would run a mile if I could walk another way
Good times, bad times, I’m still searching for the shelter from the storm
A place to keep me warm
Hold on, hold tight, I’m still waiting for the good times to roll on
And the good times make it worth it to carry on
I kept on giving but I got nothing in return
I gave unto the poor, it hurt but I gave more
Now I’m lying begging on the street on the cold hard ground
I look up to the sky, let this cup pass by
I ain’t got the answers to the questions that I have
They say that just believing moves mountains from the land
Good times, bad times, I’m still searching for the shelter from the storm
A place to keep me warm
Hold on, hold tight, I’m still waiting for the good times to roll on
And the good times make it worth it to carry on
Good times, bad times, I’m still searching for the shelter from the storm
A place to keep me warm
Hold on, hold tight, I’m still waiting for the good times to roll on
And the good times make it worth it to carry on

HI Giovanni,
Love the arrangement and the `big` sound.
The song sounds personal and that keeps it real.
