In 1979 I was given a poem from a customer at a place I was playing at asking if I could put their words to music, they didn't want a writing credit and at 15 years old I wasn't fully aware of the whole song writing credits thing...
Suffice to say that years later when looking up the song title I found a poem that was uncredited with very similar lyrics...so likely the person that gave it to me did not write it.
I added a second verse and this recording is from 1991, when I was a "little" younger and I consider this the first song I ever wrote.

There are givers and takers in life. This song is about a couple who are both givers. They have discovered that by going the extra mile for each other that it makes for a stronger relationship. I used the metaphor of a road trip to describe their happy coexistence. It's an upbeat little song. I hope you enjoy it. Thanks for listening!

Growing up my Grand-Pa would put on his old hat and take a walk in the woods behind our house every afternoon so I ask him why one day and he said it gave a man time to pray,so years latter thinking about that I wrote this song.

Relationships are complicated, so Jeffrey Scornavacca and I wrote a song about it. He wrote the track and we worked together on the lyrics and melody. Jeff is singing on the work tape, but we envision a Miranda-type vocal with some tongue and cheek attitude...think Miranda's "We Should Be Friends". **1/8/19 update** Thank you for all of your feedback! Jeff and I have posted an updated version of the song on Soundcloud if you are interested in having a listen: https://soundcloud.com/jeffreyscornavaccamusic/mr-fix-it-man-demo/s-icWVE
